Step 1: Sign Up for a Graduate School Application Account

Visit the Graduate School Application website to create your account. Please note that your application is not complete, and we cannot begin reviewing it until all required forms are submitted. The $85 non-refundable application fee can be paid online when you submit your Graduate School Application.

Step 2: Send Official Transcripts

A Master's degree in an appropriate field, may be required. The degree must be in addition to a bachelor's degree. All degrees must be from regional accredited institutions.

Request one official transcript from each post-secondary institution (college or university) that you have attended. Transcripts should be for both undergraduate and graduate.

Applicants should request transcripts to be sent directly from the institution to us electronically via soegradadmissions@miami.edu  or to our physical address if electronic transfer is not an option:

Step 3: Letters of Recommendation

In your Graduate School Application, in the "references" section, you can add you recommender's names and email addresses. When you submit your application they will receive by email a recommendation form to respond and will be able to add a letter on their letterhead. They will then click to send which will come to me electronically.

Step 4: Send Official GRE Scores

Request your GRE general, and TOEFL (if applicable) scores from ETS (University of Miami Institution Code # 5815). ** Transcripts and test scores are not considered as official if provided by, or received via the applicant.

Step 5: Complete the Essay

Students should attach to the application a statement of academic and professional goals. The statement has a maximum length of 2 pages single spaced.

Step 6: Send CV or Resume

Students should attach to the application a current curriculum vitae (CV) or resume.

Step 7: For International Students Only

International students are required to submit the following items:

  1. TOEFL (if applicable) scores from ETS (University of Miami Institution Code # 5815). Transcripts and test scores are NOT considered as official if provided by, or received via the applicant.
  2. A copy of passport.
  3. Copy of diploma with English translation for degrees earned outside of the United States.
  4. Official / original transcripts with English translation.
